MAYFIELD KENTUCKY MARCH MISSION TEAM SUMMARY REPORT Work Loving God, Inc.
A team of 70 hailing from a dozen churches and 4 states funded $16,000. In materials and supplies to supplement local resources. The team completed assigned projects in 10 jobsites including framing 3 new homes, major repairs and restoration at 5 other homes, completing extensive projects to convert 2 church buildings to be used for future team housing, and repairing a freeze damaged portable shower/bathroom trailer for future mission teams. In addition the team helped fund a ministry helping homeless renters from the tornadoes find housing, and provided a few hundred meals to local homeless shelters. Though many denominations and associations represented on the team, in the field all the community encountered was " The Body of Christ". Local disaster coordinators commented " You guys are rock stars in Kentucky. Your team leaders never complained, they shifted resources to keep everyone busy in spite of materials shortages, problems and delays, and took the initiative to go above and beyond "project scope" to do what was needed. You guys really do build like "you would build for your Mamas ; and you guys must really love your Mamas ! So.... when can you come back?" To God be the Glory! Grace not Pressure .... Preachee
Mayfield Mission: Video # 1 - Its Only the Begining CONSTRUCTION MISSION CHALLENGES, BLESSINGS, MIRACLES . Pre-dawn Thursday three will head to Mayfield, Ky from Morristown, Knoxville, and Mississippi for prep & landing; Two more on Friday from Pennsylvania; Sunday 60-70 ( some will drop out) in caravans (some driving 12 hours) from Kansas, Kentucky, Tennessee, Pennsylvania. And many others stay at home, in mission , holding down the fort and mobilizing in prayer. For traveling mission team members and local disaster coordinators: Schedule pressures? Job site challenges and the “ undefined”? Family, job, church , personal health, vehicle, financial, Spiritual, fatique issues; or some that have the biggest problem pretending there are no problems. Some have travelled missionary journeys together before ; some here for first time. Some have no relationship, a fake relationship or faltering relationship with Christ; some ‘standing on the Solid Rock’ but the enemy is pushing hard to dislodge them. Some just desperate for a safe place to process, debrief and recharge Spiritually as they pour out physically… AND THEY COME AS THE LORD ALLOWS; AS HOLY SPIRIT WEAVES BLESSINGS, CHALLENGES AND MIRACLES.

Mayfield Mission Video # 5 - Mission's End At the onset of the Mission I heard “ I will become less and less; and the Lord is raising up the next generation.” My hands -on is less and less; and teaching, encouraging, and busting through the tough problems more and more…. A mix of feelings from the pride of a father watching his own exceed beyond what he could ever do; and a mild but dissolving melancholy that my role is shifting…..I sure do love these missionary servant leaders, and their churches! This morning I ride the circuit to 8 sites across two counties working with three local agencies… and rejoice.
CONSTRUCTION MISSIONS SAYINGS: Build like you would for Mama … if you loved your Mama! They are not victims; but survivors. This is their home! Donna bad mouth it, fix it. Grace not pressure. Leave your attitude in your truck; unload Jesus! Stop ( when a local approaches) ! Drop ( your tools) ! Be present ( listen)! … Those experiencing trauma need to tell their story to heal. Don’t boss the young uns, teach them. If it were easy anyone could do it - God sent you! The Holy Spirit sent you here, treat it like the divine appointment it is and watch miracles unfold. Thanks and praise removes the haze, Shine don’t whine! Problems and delays are just opportunities to be creative. There is nothing so important that we can’t take time to do it safely. Pick up after yourself! Leave the job site cleaner and better organized every day. No one here is better than anyone else; we just have different jobs. Happiness is an emotion driven by circumstances; joy is a decision regardless of circumstances….CHOOSE JOY! If you feel a darkness decending; smack it with a praise song to God and watch it run.
