Since the time of Christ and during/ after formation of the Cannon of the Bible, there have been those who tried to “cut and paste “ God’s Word in their own image. Some like Jehovah Witness just changed the words to meet their personal narrative. Some like the Mormons added their own human books to justify a shift from “faith through grace” to works righteousness. Some like Thomas Jefferson arrogantly chose to edit to include the life of Jesus and the teachings of Jesus they liked; while denying the teachings they didn’t like, leaving out miracles and the Resurrection to present a more human logic driven text. In our times? The new heresy is spreading like cancer in many seminaries defining books of the Bible that should, by their personal opinion, be removed or relegated to a position of old stories written by ignorant people. Some choose to set their own “ bucket list” of what should be kept, and what should be disgarded. Others in denominational authority go even farther, requiring pastors to only use those books or sections of books they personally approve of. And the heresies abound in direct proportion to “ woke “ teachings. My heart aches to see this contamination running rabid through ” almost Methodists” . John Wesley warned that if there is conflict with Scripture, the conflict is within us. Paul summarized “ ALL SCRIPTURE IS GIVEN BY INSPIRATION OF GOD, AND IS PROFITABLE FOR DOCTRINE, FOR REPROOF, FOR CORRECTION, FOR INSTRUCTION IN RIGHTEOUSNESS: THAT THE MAN OF GOD MAY BE PERFECT, THOROUGHLY FURNISHED UNTO ALL GOOD WORKS.” 2 Timothy 3:16-17. If you have a pastor that teaches otherwise? Reject them. If you have a denomination that teaches otherwise? Leave them! You don’t need to be a Hebrew Or Greek Scholar to understand when God’s Word says “ ALL”? ALL MEANS ALL! And pity and pray for the heretics that really believe after 2000 + years, the Holy Spirit finally got it right with their birth and wisdom!
